Lying on the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the lush green meadows at Chaisheel valley in the Uttarkashi district offers uninterrupted views of the majestic Himalayan peaks of Bandarpoonch, Kalanag, and Swargarohini to name a few.

ChaainsheelBugyal is a high altitude valley at a height of 11700 feet in Uttarkashi district. ChaainsheelBugyal lies on the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. This place is not known much by the trekkers and Uttarakhand Tourism declared it as “Trek of the Year” in 2017.
One of the least explored destinations, Chaainsheel valley has a number of surprising meadows and mesmerizing scenic views, it is a heaven in itself.

Trek Itinerary :ChaainsheelBugyal Trek
Day 1 : Dehradun to Balawat, 215 Km Drive
Balawat, the base camp, is around 215 km from Dehradun. The drive to Balawat will be a standout amongst the most lovely mountain drives you’ll ever witness! Pay special mind to the pine timberlands after Purola and the adventure by the Tons waterway after Mori.
Day 2 : Balawat (6,283 ft) to Sunaooti Thach (10,400 ft)
As first days of Himalayan treks go, this is a taxing day. The day begins through apple plantations and deodar trees. You start moving when you begin from Balawat. As you climb, you will achieve KharllaBhushyaali. Sunaooti Thach is another 3 km from here. The campground here is an expansive fix of field. It is encompassed by knolls that extend crosswise over 2-3 km. You are over the tree line here.
Day 3 : Sunaooti Thach (10,400 ft) to Samta Thach (11,647 ft); 7-8 hours, 14 km
The trek today starts with a level stroll through an excellent backwoods trail. The timberland is loaded with oak, birch, and rhododendrons. As you hop on the edge to Samta Thach, mountain sees begin opening up. This is a level, nearly green like, knoll. You get 360 degree perspective of snow topped peaks.Samta Thach is maybe the most wonderful glade you will cross on this trek,. The decent variety of vegetation and blossoms here is shocking.
Day 4 : Rest and investigation day

Day 5 : Samta Thach (11,647 ft) to Tikula Thach (10,203 ft) through Sarutal; 5-6 hours, 8 km
Chainsheel Pass is around 2 km from Samta Thach. You reach here while in transit to Sarutal. Appreciate perspectives of Pabbar Valley from the Pass. Day 7 : DagaanMoriyaach to Chinwa then to Dehradun
The trek begins in the backwoods and slides steeply for around 1.5 hours. When you hit the waterway bed, the trail levels off. Chinwa town is the street headfrom where youcan get transport for Dehradun. The drive to Dehradun is long. Begin your day early so you can achieve Dehradun by 10.00 pm
How to Reach
There are two road routes for reaching the base camp of Chainsheel Valley Trek:
Road Route 1: Dehradun – Vikasnagar – Mussoorie – Naugaon – Purola – Mori – Tyuni – Arakot – Tikochi
Road Route 2: Dehradun – Vikasnagar – Chakrata – Tyuni – Arakot – Tikochi

- Windproof/water resistant outer shell (jacket) of good quality with a proper hood
- Down jacket with min 600 fill power rating, Thick Fleece / Full-sleeve Woolen sweater
- Thermal inner wear (upper and lower)
- Woolen cap, Inner fleece gloves, Outer water proof gloves
- Thick woolen socks and regular socks (4 – 5 pairs), Scarf/muffler (optional)
- Comfortable waterproof Trekking/Hiking shoes that come with a thick sole and high ankles
- Camp shoes such as sneakers/sport shoes
- Raincoat / Poncho
- Small light weight towel
- Insulated water bottle and hydration pack (optional)
- Cap / floppy hat to keep the strong sun away from your face, Sun glasses with UV protection and ability to cut the glare (important when traversing through snow)
- Sturdy walking stick / Trekking pole
- Sunscreen Lotion, Lip Balm
- Torch / Flashlight (with extra batteries)
- Medicines, if requiring any specific medication
- Personal toiletries
- Day pack/small bag which you will carry on your back every day and keep your essentials in it
- Carry rain cover for your bags
- Keep a few poly bags or waterproof bags in your bag in which if required you can put your belongings in case of heavy rain
Cancellation Policy
- If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.
- Cancellations are strictly subjected to cancellation policies mentioned on the website & are irrespective of the date of booking.
